trivago launches hotel review metasearch

The hotel price comparison website trivago has developed a new tool forcomparing hotels

Dusseldorf, 18th September, 2008.
Over the past years travel portals have beenencouraging travellers to write hotel evaluations on their sites. These reviews helppotential customers in addition to the universally recognised star system.trivago now features over 3 million hotel reviews for 120,000 hotels worldwide.

Malte Siewert, Managing Director of trivago stated: “We have used our metasearch technology, which compares the hotel room prices of 37 global hotel booking portalsfor this new service. We are now able to provide clear hotel recommendations bycalculating average ratings to assist trivago users. The fact of the matter is that the validity of an overall evaluation is dependant on the total number of reviews. Themetasearch technology allows us to offer a more comprehensive travel service.”
Reviews from the five largest hotel websites are currently available on trivago. This will substantially increase in the near future.

With the new hotel review metasearch, trivago is able to strengthen their position as the preferred choice for hotel information on the Internet. The company aims to intelligently filter hotel data, to facilitate the customer decision making process.
